Because engines are heavy auto parts, all shipments from Used Engine Dealer LLC are handled via specialized Commercial LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) Freight Carriers.
1. Processing & Handling Time
- Processing: Orders are typically processed, verified, and prepped within 1 to 3 business days.
- VIN Verification: Every engine order undergoes VIN compatibility check prior to dispatch to prevent fitment issues.
2. Transit Times & Delivery Options
- Standard Transit: Standard freight delivery takes approximately 3 to 7 business days depending on the destination state.
- Commercial Address Delivery (Recommended): Shipping to a commercial repair shop or business address with a loading dock or forklift is fastest and most cost-effective.
- Residential Address Delivery: Residential delivery is available but requires a Liftgate Service (to lower the heavy pallet from the freight truck). Additional residential carrier fees may apply.
3. Delivery Inspection & Signing (Crucial)
- Engines are strapped securely onto a wooden pallet and wrapped for protection.
- Mandatory Inspection: Upon delivery, you or your designated mechanic must inspect the pallet and crate for any physical damage before signing the Bill of Lading (BOL).
- Reporting Damage: If you notice visible shipping damage, you must note “Damaged Freight” on the delivery receipt and contact us within 48 hours so we can file a carrier claim.
4. Liftgate & Delivery Access Requirements
- The freight carrier driver is only responsible for offloading the engine to the curb or driveway.
- Drivers will not haul or move pallets into garages, backyards, or inside buildings.
